Dance Academy USA’s Adult Dance and Fitness Program is a comprehensive offering of weekly dance technique and fitness classes, all in one affordable monthly subscription model. Members select which classes they would like to attend each week and may continuously alter their selections from week to week to suit their interests and changing schedule. With 20+ exciting dance and fitness classes planned each week for our members, the possibilities for dance technique training, fitness, and fun are endless!

Weekly Dance and Fitness Schedule

The following schedule is our starting point for September 2024. New classes of additional styles/days/times will be added to meet the interests/schedules of our growing adult program community.

Class Descriptions

  • Ballet is the foundation of other dance disciplines and helps students develop grace, posture, body alignment and artistry. This genre of dance offers several physical benefits such as improve balance, coordination, and honed motor skills.

  • Breaking Fundamentals will teach the fundamentals of toprock, go downs, down rock, freezes & power moves. This is a great class for those who are looking to refine their all around hip hop knowledge, as breaking was the very first style to pioneer hip hop dance and culture.

  • Body Sculpt/Core Conditioning is a non-aerobic, muscle-toning class that is focused on building core strength. Participants will be led through traditional weight-training moves in a class setting.

  • Hip Hop encourages self-expression and musical interpretation through full body movement. Originating from street dancing, this style incorporates the hottest new dances with explosive movement and freestyling.

  • Jazz is fun, high-energy dance form that develops technique, rhythm, and style while building strength, flexibility, and body awareness. Students will build a solid skill set as they execute turns, kicks, leaps, and rhythmic movement to fast paced music.

  • Jazz Funk is a super-set of jazz and influenced by the groove of hip hop. This fast-paced style builds upon knowledge of basic jazz foundation and incorporates quick combos emphasizing feminism and intricate movements.

  • K-Pop is a genre of popular music originating in South Korea. K-Pop dance class blends hip hop, jazz funk, and house dance forms to create choreography that is set to popular K-Pop music.

  • Latin will explore patterns from the styles of bachata, salsa, and Latin fusion choreography. This class will primarily focus on shines (solo footwork), however, partnerwork will also be introduced (bringing a partner is not required).

  • Lyrical/Contemporary combines the technical foundations of ballet and jazz to express emotion. Students explore improvisation and musical interpretation. Choreographies are inspired by lyrics from the songs to inspire artistic storytelling through movement.

  • Pilates Stretch will help strengthen your overall body with an emphasis on core strength. This class will concentrate on posture, balance and flexibility. Class is designed for beginners or those wanting a more challenging workout.

  • SHiNE Dance Fitness™ brings original routines to life using hit music and choreography for all abilities. Rooted in jazz, ballet and hip-hop, this workout includes the perfect balance of high-cardio and toning.

  • Step Aerobics is an exercise class that targets your legs, upper body, and core, building strength and flexibility. The movements on and off the step platform also improve your balance, coordination, and agility.

  • Tap is an audible art form which incites the creation of music and melody from the feet. Students will learn how to implement a ‘musical ear’ for analysis of timing and proper tap technique, as well as practice using their bodies as an instrument of percussion.

  • U-Jam Fitness is an engaging workout that incorporates urban dance moves, such as hip-hop, Bollywood, and urban styles, into a full-body cardio workout while also improving coordination, balance, and flexibility.

  • Zumba® is a high energy calorie-burning workout that feels like a dance party. Simple pop song choreographies are introduced weekly and repeated over time allowing dancers of all backgrounds to enjoy the FUN!

Performance Opportunities

Those who attend dance technique sessions may also take advantage of performance opportunities offered at our June recital! Weekly adult performance classes will be added to the Season 24-25 schedule from February 2025 - June 2025 to prepare recital routines for those who wish to perform. Times for these performance classes will be determined after surveying our adult program members in the fall. All adult program members who regularly attend technique classes are welcome and encouraged to sign up for these additional performance classes in our Studio Director system without any registration fee. Tuition for these performance classes will be $99/month for each class and will include the recital costume. A drop fee of $100 will be charged to students who drop the performance class after May 1, 2025 to accommodate for the instructor’s re-staging work.

Monthly Membership Rates*

All memberships are committed to an initial month term. Following the initial term, the membership will continue automatically and be billed monthly.

Members must provide 7 days written notice to cancel their monthly membership.

Monthly Standard Rates:

4 Classes Per Month - $119

8 Classes Per Month - $149

Unlimited Classes Per Month - $199

*Drop-ins are offered for adult classes at $30/session.

This Adult Dance and Fitness Program begins Sept. 3, 2024 and is a year-long program, however, the following holidays and breaks will be observed during the 24-25 Season:

November 28-30: Thanksgiving Break – Studio Closed

December 24-26: Christmas Break – Studio Closed

December 31-January 1: New Years Break – Studio Closed

May 26: Memorial Day – Studio Closed

June 13-14: Dress Rehearsals/Recitals – Studio Closed

July 4: Independence Day Break – Studio Closed

Policies/Procedures

Members manage their session bookings through the DAU app. Expand each item below to learn about class session bookings, cancellations and waitlists.

  • Members are required to book spots to through the DAU app to attend their desired sessions (up to the number per week that your tiered membership allows). You may book your sessions up to one month in advance.

  • Members must cancel their sessions at least 8 hours in advance through the DAU app. Late cancels will be charged $10, and no-shows will be charged $15 (canceling your spot within 1 hour of the session start time is considered a no show). All members will check in on the iPad at the front desk to confirm attendance to avoid any late/no show fees. Members who need to cancel their session are requested to kindly do so ASAP to allow waitlisted members the opportunity to grab a spot in the class.

  • If a spot opens up more than 8 hours before the session, the first person on the waitlist will be added to the session automatically, receive a text and/or email notification, and remain enrolled unless they cancel (reply N to the text alert, or cancel through the app). Passed opportunities will be opened to the next client on the list. Within 8 hours of a scheduled session, open spots may be taken by anyone, regardless of the waitlist. If you are waitlisted, keep your phone handy in the hour before the session. We make calls during that time to accommodate as many guests as possible.
