Mr. Jayvin
Jayvin is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor who began his dance journey at 12 and has had 12 years of teaching experience in the Bay Area. He began his journey with breaking and hip hop which then transitioned into open style choreography. In high school, he expanded his knowledge by taking technique classes at school and he danced for a local dance team. This helped expand his knowledge in hip hop, popping, turfing, and many more. He moved on to co-direct and choreograph for his school team, Gen3. During college, he became a resident choreographer for their dance company. More recently, his endeavors have moved on to battle in open-style and house dance events.
As an instructor, he has been involved in both teaching recreational and directing competitive hip hop programs. He has worked with all ages and levels. He specializes in hip hop, lyrical hip hop, house, popping, and improvisation. As a supplement to his teaching, his Bachelors in Kinesiology degree allows him to help each dancer become more coordinated, athletic, and knowledgeable about physical health. Students can expect his dynamic classes to revolve around growth, community, and most importantly, fun. He hopes his students not only learn how to become great dancers, but can apply the experiences, lessons, and habits to help them succeed in various aspects of their lives. He is excited to join the DAU team to continue to inspire and share his passion with the next generation of dancers.
